[ Harvest with Autumn colors ]
Davvero inaspettata questa vendemmia così insolita nei tempi ma soprattutto nella qualità, non è frequente la possibilità di portare l’uva fino a piena maturazione arrivando fino agli ultimi giorni di settembre.
Proprio qui a Castagneto Carducci, Bolgheri la pioggia non si è fatta vedere in settembre, ma la frescura serale e l’umidità della notte, hanno fatto si che le piante non soffrissero ed i grappoli arrivassero ancora sani e rigogliosi fino a questi giorni. Era sufficiente vederla quest’uva per capire come fosse meravigliosa e assaggiando un chicco la croccantezza della buccia ed il dolce della polpa confermavano la sensazione visiva.
This really unexpected harvest, so unusual in the times but also in quality, it is not frequent the opportunity to bring the grapes until reaching full maturity until the last days of September.
Right here in Castagneto Carducci, Bolgheri, the rain has not showed up in September, but the coolness of the evening and the humidity of the night, have meant that the plants do not suffer and that the grapes arrive to this day still healthy and lush. It was enough to see it to understand how this grape was wonderful, and tasting a grain crispiness of the skin and sweet flesh confirmed the visual sensation.
Insoliti sono stati così anche i colori della vigna che, ancora con i grappoli attaccati portava già i colori che richiamano l’autunno, i primi pampini gialli e rossi in un connubio di colori davvero affascinante.
La pioggia copiosa, ma non devastatrice qui da noi fortunatamente, è arrivata magicamente proprio ai primi di ottobre, con l’uva già in cantina. Adesso ci attende il lento e paziente lavoro in cantina, facilitato da quest’uva sana e matura, in attesa di vederne i risultati trasformati in vini che si prospettano di grande qualità, e senza dubbio di qualità oggi c’è davvero sempre più bisogno per i vini ed i prodotti Italiani in genere.
Unusual were so also the colors of the vineyard, the grapes still attached already wore the colors that recall the autumn, the first yellow and red vine leaves in a combination of colors really fascinating.
The copious rain, but not devastating to us here fortunately, is just magically arrived in early October, with the grapes already in the cellar. Now we have the slow and patient work in the cellar, facilitated by this grape healthy and mature, waiting to see the results transformed into wines of great quality that lie ahead, and no doubt quality today there really is an increasing need for Italian wines and products in general.
